The Walking Dead Season 5 Update: Rumors, News, Plus Possible Major Spoilers In New Teaser Trailer

Walking Dead Season 5 could include the death of Glenn Rhee, if a clip from one of the latest trailers proves true. Greg Nicotero, one of the key people behind the show, told Yahoo, "I can say that it's in the trailer for a reason." He was referring to a scene in the trailer where a tied up Glenn is being menaced by a man holding a swinging object.

As the website HNGN.com points out, "In the comics Glenn does die at the hands of Negan, who beats him to death with a barbed wire bat, but the show is known for tweaking story lines between the comics and the TV show," the website said.

The show's producers won't say for sure what's going to transpire or if any major character will perish in the upcoming season, which debuts on Sunday, Oct. 12 at 9 p.m. ET. "We can see anything this season. Anything is possible," the show creator Robert Kirkman told the Hollywood Reporter.

Another character, who appears to be pleading for his life in the show's trailer is Bob. There's wide internet rumor that Bob will be the second character to die early in the season.

"I think the person that is actually going to die in the Season 5 premiere is Bob," reports the website moviepilot.com. "My theory: the group escapes the train car at Terminus in the first few minutes of the Season 5 premiere, but get recaptured, taken back to the blood-letting troughs and Bob meets his demise."

The website also suggests that the leaders, Rick and Darryl, may be the ones who die in the fifth season of the show. While it's still wild speculation to even think that the shows biggest draws would end up zombies themselves, the show does throw curve balls every now and then. As moviepilot.com explains, as long as someone stepped in to fill the void, as has been done in the past, anything is possible when considering who will die in The Walking Dead, Season 5.

"The Walking Dead relies heavily on the audience being emotionally invested in the characters. Each time we have lost a character (until Season Four), they were replaced fairly quickly with someone else who could fill the emotional void. Hershel took Dale's place. Michonne has stepped into the void left by Andrea's defection and death. Fans are given another character to love, someone to root for or against, someone to connect with in some way each time a major death occurs. If the show is to survive the death of either Daryl or Rick, the writers must give fans enough time to fall in love with whomever will replace the fallen character," the website explains.
