Keith Urban Tour 2014: Teen Raped in Front of Concert Crowd?
The Mansfield, Massachusetts leg of Keith Urban's 2014 tour was tainted with controversy with news that a female teen was allegedly raped and the act was reportedly witnessed by numerous people.
A certain police report stated that a concert attendee allerted the authorities after noticing that a rape scene may be happening right on the lawns of the concert venue.
The concerned concert-goer added that she approached the alleged female victim to ask her if the purported sexual act was consensual, and the teen girl said "no," states Daily Mail.
The suspected rapist is identified as 18-year-old Sean Murphy. He was charged with sexual assault of a teenager while a big group of fans witnessed the scene, not knowing that what they were actually watching was an alleged rape attack.
But Murphy's lawyer believes that what transpired was consensual.
"There are no allegations of force or violence against him. This was a private act that regrettably occurred in a public place. Mr. Murphy deeply regrets this incident and I am sure the young woman does as well. The young woman was neither intoxicated nor overcome by drugs at the time. Mr. Murphy has no criminal history whatsoever," the lawyer of the suspect explained. Murphy pleaded for his innocence and was released after paying a $10,000 cash bail.
Some fans who said that they were able to capture the alleged tragic attack using their cellphones also believe that the sexual act that they witnessed on the concert grounds was indeed consensual, reports Fox News.
On the other hand, the Mansfield Police stated that their officers are already putting in their best efforts to investigate on the photos and video that captured the alleged assault, CNN stated.
"Those phones are being processed to recover the digital evidence of the assault," the Mansfield Police reiterated.
There were about 18,000 attendees of the crazy Keith Urban tour 2014 show held in Mansfield's Xfinity Center.
Gawker reports that the concert became too rowdy, and Urban himself described it as a "nutso." Apart from the alleged rape case, there were 20 individuals who were reportedly harmed due to alcohol intoxication.
