Did Tim McGraw Slap a Female Fan? [See Video]
A video taken during Tim McGraw's Atlanta show on Sunday had a lot of people wondering if McGraw, usually a gentleman, got physical with a female concert fan at Aaron's Amphitheatre at Lakewood.
The somewhat blurry video found below has gone viral because the country crooner has allegedly been caught red-handed - seemingly smacking a woman as he walked by. However, the singer's rep says that the video is deceiving and that McGraw was only stopping the individual as she was getting too touchy.
In the video filmed by TMZ, while the singer was belting out "Truck Yeah" and walking through the crowd, Tim is slapped twice by the woman, one on the knee and the second one nearer or right on Tim's package.
Quoting the singer's rep, E! Online reports, "At the end of the night during the encore, Tim was singing out in the audience and someone firmly grabbed onto his leg and wouldn't let go as he was moving through the crowd."
The rep adds, "He instinctively swatted to try and keep them from ripping his jeans (which they succeeded at doing!), and so he could get to more fans who were trying to slap hands with him before the end of the show. He didn't know who had grabbed him and was simply trying to keep his jeans from being torn."
After Tim reacted instinctively by smacking the woman, she is then quickly approached by security and escorted away.
This isn't the first time that a fan has frustrated McGraw. In 2007, a similar incident occurred while McGraw was performing with wife Faith Hill. When McGraw got close to the fans and greeted them, a female fan grabbed Tim's crotch which angered Hill.
An irate Hill, defended her husband while on stage and chastised the fan for inappropriate grabbing.
"Somebody needs to teach you some class, my friend," Hill reprimanded the fan. "You don't go grabbin' somebody else's, somebody's husband's [private parts], you understand me? That's very disrespectful," People quotes the the female singer.
Speaking to Ellen DeGeneres later on about the incident, the singer said, as quoted by IB Times, "I'm from Mississippi, so what I really wanted to do is kick her you-know-what. You know what I'm saying? I mean c'mon. I mean, how disrespectful! And plus, it's like sexual harassment. I mean if a man was to do that to a woman? I mean c'mon."
