Dr. Who Season 8 Release Date, Cast, Leak -- News Update
Fans anticipated the return of Dr. Who Season 8 starring Peter Capaldi got a glimpse of the new season in a special trailer that appeared on Sunday.
It seems fan anticipation for he upcoming season is so great that show producers have had to deal with leaked scirpts and even a leak of the first couple of episodes, according to Bleedingcool.com. The site reported the following: "We told you that the scripts for the first five episodes of the new season of Doctor Who had leaked. Placed on an open server at BBC Miami for subtitle translation purposes and then pulled down when the leak were international."
But in a more legal effort to promote the show, BBC showed off something to satiate starving Dr. Who fans.
As the WSJ.com blog reports, "BBC unveiled the new trailer of the eighth season of “Doctor Who” on Sunday during halftime of the World Cup final between Germany and Argentina. The Germans may have prevailed in the soccer match, but Whovians were the big winners. Judging by the pyrotechnics and intrigue hyped by the new ad — which features tantalizing images of the Cybermen, the Daleks and a dinosaur taking a stroll in front of Parliament — fans are in for quite a ride."
The upcoming season will appear on BBC in England on Aug. 23
