The "Coolest" Raises $4 Million on KickStarter- Must See Demo
Portland, Oregon inventor Ryan Grepper has the Internet in a buzz over the release of his new Kickstarter project, the "Coolest" -- to the tune of $4 million dollars.
The Coolest is a modern twist on the average cooler, which adds in various high tech upgrades and solutions to problems that have always plagued cooler users.
With a USB charger that allows for phone charging, the Coolest insures that you will never have to worry about a dying cellphone. The Bluetooth wireless speakers are a luxury item that means you don't have to lug a boom box with you to the beach. The LED lid lights are used at night when searching for your beverage of choice.
A battery-operated blender and gear tie down are the closing features that make the Coolest a summer time necessity. The Coolest is looking to bring the world's coolers into the 21st century.
"The Coolest is a portable party disguised as a cooler, bringing blended drinks, music and fun to any outdoor occasion," the Kickstarter page reads. "The Coolest cooler is 60 quarts of AWESOME packed with so much fun you'll look for excuses to get outside more often."
Initially Grepper was seeking to obtain $50,000 in 50 days, so that manufacturing of his product could get off the ground. To Grepper's surprise, more than 22,000 Kickstarter users invested $4.3 million and counting. The project still has 46 days to go.
Those who donate $165 or more on the Coolest Kickstarter receive their very own Coolest for a discounted price. Grepper says that those donating $165 will be saving least $135, which means that the retail price released to the public will be somewhere in the $300 range.
If all goes according to plan, the Coolest should hit markets sometime next February. And if things work out the way Grepper plans, the various upgrades will make beach trips, barbeques and picnics that much easier.
