Ronda Rousey Beats Alexis Davis in 16 Seconds on UFC 175 [Watch Here]

It would take about 16 seconds for a hurrying mortal to prepare coffee -- it would also take that much time for Ronda Rousey to beat an opponent. And she wasn't even hurrying at that.

At the UFC 175 on July 5, Rousey proved her superiority by giving Alexis Davis a superswift fight -- over in a matter of 16 seconds and without a chance to fight back. Hollywood Life has this to say: Don't mess with her.

At the match, Rousey wobbled Davis with a hand behind the ear and landed a knee, then a nifty judo throw, about 10 seconds into the match, put Alexis on the ground.

The 27-year-old grabbed that opportunity to end it and claim her 10th straight win. She barraged Davis with punches to the face to render her unconcious on the Octagon, affirming that she deserves her spot as the first and current UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion. Fox Sports said the match was the most dominant performance of her dominant career, saying the fighter's fastest finish was a blur.

The finish of the UFC 175 co-main event sent a jolt through the Mandalay Bay Events Center crowd, with the Rousey giving them more than they expected. Hollywood Life said stars Demi Lovato, Wilmer Valderrama and Kellan Lutz were in attendance.

Rousey came into the fight as a 10-to-1 favorite, but it was previously projected that Davis, a 7-year-pro with a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt in her arsenal, would last. Davis had come with a five winning streak, but now falls to 16-6.

It was the seventh under-a-minute win in Rousey's career and her second straight KO win, Fox Sports said, adding that trainer Edmond Tarverdyan had predicted a knockout before the bout. The last win was in February, against Sara McMann. All eight matches prior were won via armbar submission, which ESPN reported is her most lethal weapon.

The fight will drop Rousey's average fight time, the report added. The record was already a brief 2:44 headed into her fourth title defense. It is the second-fastest knockout in UFC title bout history, behind a 15-second finish at UFC 55 in October 2005.

Asked if she would fight on August 2's UFC 176 to give it a main event after UFC featherweight champ Jose Aldo withdrew due to injury, Rousey admitted she was dealing with a sore right knee and a cyst on her right hand.

Rousey added that she has a knee surgery coming up, but that she wasn't closing her doors to the possibility. She would talk to her fight team, the report said. If Rousey fights though, the Fox Sports report said, it will still be a lopsided favoritism.
