Pau Gasol For Bulls? Chicago Team Allegedly Eyeing Lakers Player

Free agent Pau Gasol is allegedly being eyed by the Chicago Bulls, and according to some reports, the team's representatives have already scheduled a trip to Los Angeles to win the player. But there are also rumors that the Oklahoma City Thunder have also talked to Gasol on the possibility of him playing with the Thunder.

The Bulls team, according to NBC Sports, will be flying soon to Los Angeles and pursue Gasol on "another level." It added that Chicago can give the same offer as the other teams who are lobbying to have Gasol as one of their players for the next NBA season.

ESPN reported that Chicago has a growing interest on putting Gasol on the team since they are having doubts if they can add Carmelo Anthony to the team's lineup. ESPN's sources also claim that the Bulls consider Gasol as their "top target" next to Anthony and that they plan to meet with Gasol face to face to give him the offer.

But the Spanish player who is also a free agent is still being encouraged by the Los Angeles Lakers to stay with the team, ESPN noted.

One ESPN source said Gasol met with the Lakers on Tuesday and that it went "very well." Knicks president Phil Jackson and Heat president Pat Riley are planning to call Gasol to pitch him an offer, the report added.

Another team who is doing its best to win Gasol's trust is no other than the Oklahoma City Thunder. According to ESPN, Kevin Durant and Russel Westbrook have talked to Gasol face to face in Los Angeles to ask for his services. The same report added that this offer came despite the possibility that the Thunder may face financial problems if the acquisition pushes through.

ESPN also wrote that Thunder general manager Sam Presti have discussed the offer to Gasol via phone and that Gasol is "open to the possibility" of playing with Durant and Westbrook.

In another article, NBC Sports noted that the Thunder could give Gasol a $5-million dollar offer. And if the Spanish player agrees with the terms, the Thunder, according to NBC, could have the best free agent in the team so far.

Gasol is known for his 17.4 points and 9.7 rebounds per game record.
