Belgium vs. The Korean Republic Matchup at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil: Preview, En Vivo on Univision, Schedule, Live Stream
Group H gets underway with their closing match between Belgium and the Korean Republic (South Korea).
Belgium has already clinched a spot in the knockout round, but in order to get an ideal seeding they must either draw or beat South Korea.
South Korea is on the outside looking in when it comes to Group H. The Koreans need a great deal of help if they are to make it into the next round. In order for that to happen, Russia will have to beat Algeria by a slim margin, and Korea will also have to handle business against their Belgium foe in a demonstrative way.
Belgium was slated as a World Cup contender coming into Brazil. Their play as of late, in the 'weak' Group H, hasn't been up to par.
Belgium has only scored three goals in two matches, and although both games resulted in win, Belgium has looked stagnant as times. In their match against Algeria, it took an amazing comeback to secure the game in the closing minutes.
In the game against Russia, it took Belgium almost the entire match for Hazard to get his game on lock. A late-minute strike was able to give Belgium a decisive Group H win.
South Korea is coming off of a disastrous performance against Algeria. Algeria dominated the entire game putting up four goals to give themselves a great shot at advancing to the next round. Korea was down early against Algeria, but the second half seemed to ignite a different Korean squad.
Although the comeback was not completed, Korea was given some confidence that they will take into their match against Belgium, especially with their World Cup dreams on the line.
If Korea wants to have a shot at taking down Belgium they have to shore up their defense. South Korea has a young team who lacks discipline, but in crunch time the youngsters will have to answer the call or go home in despair.
Algeria is a far more athletic team than the Red Devils of Belgium, so Korea will probably have a better chance.
Belgium and South Korea get underway Thursday at 1 p.m. (PT). The match will be played at Arena Corinthians in Sao Paulo and can be viewed on ESPN. The match can also be streamed on ESPN.
