Miami Heat News 2014: How Cleveland Cavaliers Owner & Coach Could Win Back LeBron James
All eyes are on Cleveland Cavaliers' new coach, David Blatt, who according to some sources, could convince LeBron James to come back to the Cavs.
After announcing that he is opting for free agency, a lot of options have been laid out for James including returning to Cleveland.
But the important question, according to Fox Sports, is if James is willing to play for a rookie coach. The answer, according to the same report, still seems to be a "probably not" or "maybe."
In a press conference on Wednesday, Blatt refused to give any comment on James' free agency He only said that he has been following the issue very closely.
Meanwhile, Cavs general manager, David Griffin, was quoted by Fox Sports, saying that Blatt "is a man who builds deep, meaningful relationships with players."
Blatt is a higly respected coach responsible for mentoring Maccabi Tel Aviv for four years and sports analysts have no doubts that he can also work his magic on LeBron.
House of Houston, in an article, described Blatt as someone who is "going to bring some of the most innovative approaches found in professional basketball anywhere on the globe. Time and time again, from Russia to Israel and several other prominent head coaching jobs in between, David has done one thing: 'win.' He is not only an innovator, well-trained and focused on both sides of the court, but he is always learning and always teaching."
Asked about his plans for the team in the upcoming NBA season, Blatt said that he is going to be tough with his players. "I'm gonna be fair with them, but I'm going to treat them like human beings, like I'd want to be treated," he added.
Fox Sports noted that Blatt is a well-liked coach as some of his former players made time just to attend his press conference.
But House of Houston noted in the same report that Blatt's charm and record may not be enough to win James back to the team. It added that he is not the kind of coach that will entice James to return.
If he is not returning to Cleveland, where is his next possible destination? House of Houston speculated that it could be with the Rockets who is believed to be looking for a third superstar.
But as mentioned earlier, these are all mere possibilities. In the end, the ball is in James' hand.
