World Cup 2014: Greece vs. Côte d'Ivoire, Live Stream Free, Schedule, Start Time, Predictions & Preview
Greece and Greece vs. Côte d'Ivoire will meet Tuesday at the World Cup in Brazil to face off during the third game of the Group C matchup. A win for the Ivory Coast would definitely see them through, and a draw against Greece would do the job as long as Colombia beats Japan in the other Group C matchup.
When: Tuesday, June 24
Where: Estádio Castelão, Fortaleza
Start Time: 1 p.m. PT
Schedule: ESPN2
Live Stream: ESPN
What to Watch For:
Neither team has advanced to the round of 16 in their World Cup history.
The Ivory Coast could look to living legend Didier Drogva to start due to Zokora's suspension. The other player on the Ivory Coast to watch out for will be Gervinho, who will attempt to continue his scoring ways. Brothers Yaya and Kolo Toure recently were informed that their brother Ibrahim died on Thursday, but both have elected to stay for the Cup. Yaya Toure is the Manchester City midfielder, and will be expected to play deeper in his midfield role.
Greece, on the other hand, has not scored yet this tournament. They are still searching for their first goal. Greece will need a victory against the Ivory Coast, but it is unlikely as they have failed to score in 7 of their 8 World Cup matches. They are one of only two teams who have not scored in the 2014 World Cup.
Predicted Lineup:
Greece: Karnezis, Holebas, Torosidis, Papastathopoulos, Manolas, Karagounis, Kone, Maniatis, Smamaras, Gekas & Salpingidis
Ivory Coast: Barry, Boka, Bamba, Aurier, Kolo Toure, Tiote, Serey Die, Yaya Toure, Gervinho, Bony & Drogba
