By Staff Reporter| Jun 16, 2014

One of the movies generating a lot of talk is the upcoming "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice." The movie will be the introduction of the next-flick that will center on the Justice League.

Aquaman is a character that has been linked to a number of actors but no official word has come out regarding who has been chosen.

In a separate Latino Post article, we reported that Matt Damon already dismissed rumors about him being cast as Aquaman.

So who will play the iconic hero?

Several outlets have assumed that the role will be taken on by none other than Jason Momoa.

Below are three reasons why Jason Momoa could be right-on-the-money to play Aquaman:

  • Hitflix.com reported that it's been confirmed Momoa signed on for the part with director Snyder having finalized the designs for the character. The outlet goes on to say that while Aquaman is not a feature of the film, it will definitely be an intro for him and his larger role for the following unnamed Justice League film.
  • The "Game of Thrones" star has got the physique of a superhero. Momoa has been linked to the film for along time and from the looks of this photo, the aquatic hero looks ready to battle. Just get Jason to don golden hair and he's ready to shine.
  • He's keeping mum on the issue. The last word that Momoa made on the rumor was a month ago when the actor denied the casting. The buzz on his casting has been quite persistent but no official word.. or denial has been made.

The film will feature a number of DC comic superheroes but those confirmed so far include the title characters, Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman along with Gal Gadot taking on the role of Wonder Woman.

For those who aren't hardcore comics fans, Aquaman is the King of Atlantis who possesses the ability to communicate with sea animals which he uses to assist him in fighting crimes. He also has super-strength and super-speed among other skills. Aquaman is also one of the founding members of the Justice League of America and has his own line of graphic novels telling of his tales and adventures.

Momoa is famed for his role in the popular fantasy TV series, "Game of Thrones" where he plays Khal Drogo, Khaleesi's husband. While he was a fan favorite, he saw the end of his TV life during the first season of the series.

"Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" is due to hit the movie theaters on May 6, 2014.
