VP Son Beau Biden Undergoes Medical Tests in Texas
Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden is undergoing medical tests in Houston, says New York Daily News. Biden reportedly experienced weakness and disorientation last week.
According to Jason Miller, spokesperson for the Delaware Department of Justice, Biden started experiencing both symptoms after driving to Indiana for a family vacation Wednesday night.
There is no official announcement from the family and from the Delaware Department of Justice as to where the attorney general is seeking medical evaluation. However, according to Business Week, the News-Journal of Wilmington, Delaware, citing an unidentified source, says that he is at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Biden recently posted a photo of him and his wife, Hallie on his personal twitter account. Along with the photo, he tweeted:
"Touched by all your well wishes - thank you. Nice evening in Houston w/ Hallie; will share update when we have it. -bb"
Vice President Joe Biden reportedly flew from Delaware and accompanied his son to Houston. There has been no official news yet as to how many days the Vice President is staying with his son.
According to Business Week, the elder Biden is set to accompany President Obama on August 23 for a bus tour in Scranton Pennsylvania.
President Obama and the White House only has well wishes for the younger Biden. According to USA Today, President Obama reportedly phoned in the Vice President to express good wishes to his son.
"In that telephone call the president offered his good wishes to Beau and told the vice president that Beau and the rest of the Biden family would be in his thoughts and prayers," said White House spokesman Josh Earnest in the report.
This is not the first time Beau Biden has run into medical problems. In 2010, he suffered a mild stroke and spent over 5 weeks recuperating at the Jefferson University Hospital and at home.
