US Open 2014 Golf Dates & Live Stream: Where to Watch Online?
The 114th US Open, set to gather about 20 top golfers, will take place at the Pinehurst Resort from June 12 to 15.
For the third time in the last fifteen years, the major golf tournament will take place at the prestigious golf resort.
Pinehurst, according to Golf.com, hosted the tournament in 2005 but now has some major changes done to the playing course. It noted that the golf course is 348 yards longer than 9 years ago and also features four par-4s measuring more than 500 yards each.
The Boston Globe reported that Pinehurst has some kind of retro feel adding that there are more shades of brown and tan on location. The same online report noted that the US Golf Association, five years ago, has promoted the "brown is beautiful" tag to indicate that the colors is visually engaging and contrasting not only to the players but also to the audience.
Another modification of Pinehurst, according to Boston Globe, also came in the form of bunker modifications. It noted that instead of sand traps, the bunkers on No. 2 have a more natural and rustic look.
English golfer Justin Rose will defend his US Open title but Golf.com noted that no golfer has won back-to-back in the said tournament since Curtis Strange who did so in 1988 and 1989.
