Cristiano Ronaldo Transfer To Manchester United News: Ronaldo Refuses To Talk Real Madrid Contract Extension
Cristiano Ronaldo will not commit to Real Madrid.
The superstar refused to talk about his contract status during a meeting with the press and continued to leave the door open to a move away from his team when his contract expires in 2015.
"I have more years to come," Ronaldo said according to AS. "The contract renewal is not something that worries me now. Things take place naturally and sooner or later people will know about it. The situation does not worry me. Things are going well. I am happy and do not think that the world is ending."
Ronaldo's latest statement is a step backward from where he was a few weeks ago when he stated that he wanted to remain in Madrid.
"I enjoy of course to play there [Real Madrid], I play there for four years so I want to continue there," he said during an interview in Singapore a few weeks ago according to ESPN.
Club President Florentino Perez has repeatedly stated that his Portuguese star wanted to finish out his career with Los Blanco.
"We are all convinced that he is going to finish his sporting life at Real Madrid," he said according to ESPN. "At the end of the summer we will try and sort out this subject. I believe this will happen, for sure, before the end of the month, or at the start of next month. We do not have such a great hurry, when there are good intentions. We will resolve it satisfactorily. At least that is my desire."
Coach Carlo Ancelotti has also repeated the same theme throughout his month with the club.
"Everyone knows that he is a superstar and a great player," Ancelotti told the media in Spain shortly after his arrival according to ESPN. "The most important thing for the club is that a player of his quality shows the utmost professionalism...That is good, especially for the young players who can see a world-class player working with that attitude. I am not responsible for the renewal of his contract, but it won't be a problem."
Many speculated that Ronaldo was paving the way for a return to the Old Trafford this summer. However, that plan has not taken off and it is unlikely it will happen for the time being. However, the longer Ronaldo's contract extension gets delayed, the better chances of a Manchester return get.
