Drake Bell Gets Back at Justin Bieber for Crashing His Album Release Party in LA
The Justin Bieber v. Drake Bell saga continued this week when Bieber crashed Bell's album release party and the two took jabs at each other on social media.
The beef between the music artists began after Bell mocked the 20-year-old pop star on Twitter earlier this year, according to MTV News. Although Bieber never responded, he decided to get back at the former Nickelodeon star on Thursday by stealing some of his spotlight at his album release party. The Canadian singer showed up to Mixology at the Grove in Los Angeles in a black SUV and rolled down his window, causing Bell's fans to go wild, reports TMZ.
Bieber then posted a video of the screaming fans to his Instagram account, with the caption, "So nice seeing my fans at the grove tonight."
He also shared a photo on Instagram of Bell looking down at Bieber's van mobbed while it was being surrounded by fans, with the caption: "Why is @justinbieber sprinter van getting more attention than my album release party." Bieber later removed the pic.
In response, Bell took a jab at Bieber in a tweet, writing, "@justinbieber dude ! Thank you for coming to my party I didn't know you were down stairs sorry they didn't let you in!! Should have hmu!!"
The 27-year-old former child star also spoke out about the incident at the party during an interview with Fox 11 News. "I think I've joined with most celebrities and have said a couple of opinions on there [Twitter]. I don't think the Beliebers have liked it very much," Bell told the news anchor on Friday.
He also mentioned that Bieber never got inside the album release party, which was a 21 and over event.
"I was changing my clothes [at the time], I didn't know he was there," he said. "That pic [that Bieber posted on Instagram] is actually as Justin was leaving."
He added that in spite of the incident, "There's no war. There's no real beef or anything like that."
