Michigan Judge Lashes Out at Convicted Boyfriend Killer, Says ‘I Hope You Die in Prison’
A Michigan judge lashed out on a convicted murderer who showed complete disregard for her stabbing victim and his family in court this week.
"I hope you die in prison," said Judge John McBain to 31-year-old Camia Gamet, who was sentenced to life behind bars for stabbing her boyfriend, Marcel Hill, to death two years ago, repots The Huffington Post.
Judge McBain gave Gamet a verbal thrashing after she interrupted her slain boyfriend's aunt while she delivered an emotional recount of the abuse her nephew had suffered at Gamet's hands, MyFoxDetroit.com reported.
That's when Gamet interrupted the speech to say "Is that it?"
In response, McBain told Gamet, "You're going to shut your mouth or I'm going to have some duct tape put on it."
It was also reported that Gamet was seen by the judge rolling her eyes and snickering while Hill's aunts spoke to the court.
During Gamet's sentencing, Judge McBain said, "You gutted him like a fish in that apartment. You were relentless. You stabbed, you stabbed, you stabbed, you stabbed, you stabbed until he was dead. I agree with the family, I hope you die in prison as well. You know, if this was a death penalty state, you'd be getting the chair."
He went on to describe Hill's murder as "one of the worst cold-blooded murders he's ever seen".
According to reports, Gamet stabbed her former lover 11 times during the attack. Her defense lawyer claims that she acted in self-defense and plans to appeal her sentence.
Gamet, who was convicted of first-degree murder, aruged that she believed she was fighting a home intruder in a dark room.
