Tax Day Freebies 2014: Where to Score Free Stuff and Good Deals on April 15
While most people don't exactly welcome Tax Day, a number of businesses are offering free goodies and good deals to help take away the sting of filing taxes.
From restaurants like Arby's and the Hard Rock Cafe, to companies like HydroMassage and Office Depot, businesses around the country are offering incentives and freebies on April 15, one of the least revered days of the year.
Here's a list of places offering a break:
With this Arby's coupon, you can get a free snack-sized order of curly fries on April 15 with no purchase necessary.
Just saying the words "taxes shmaxes" to a cashier at California Tortilla will get you free chips and queso on tax day, while supplies last.
Treat yourself to a free chocolate chip cookie from Great American Cookies, with no coupon necessary.
Green Dot Corp is offering their reloadable prepaid card customers who haven't filed their taxes yet the chance to get their federal refund direct-deposited onto the card and two free cash reloads, which can cost up to $4.95 each. The only catch is the refund has to be deposited onto the card by May 15; reloads are good until Aug. 15.
If you're in the mood for karaoke on Tax Day, then you may want to stop by the Hard Rock Cafe where you'll get a free grilled vegetable sandwich, arugula salad with chicken, Fiesta Burger or veggie burger from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.—if you sing a song onstage.
A great way to find relief from the stress of Tax Day is with a free massage at HydroMassage. Each year, HydroMassage offers free sessions in its massage beds from April 14 to 18 with a coupon. The beds massage muscles with high-pressure streams of water, and are located at fitness centers and spas. However, the company warns customers that if there's high demand, massages may be limited to 10 minutes, and not every location is participating in the promotion.
Office Depot is offering customers the opportunity to get free shredding for up to five pounds of paper until April 29. You just have to print and present this coupon.
At Schlotzsky's, if you buy a 32 oz. drink and a bag of chips, you'll get a small "the original" sandwich (ham, two kinds of salami and three cheeses) on April 15.
Bruegger's Bagels is continuing its annual special on its Big Bagel Bundles, which means that customers can get a bag of 13 bagels and two tubs of cream cheese in various flavors for $10.40--that's about $3.50 cheaper than usual. Just download and print a coupon from Bruegger's Facebook page. The deal ends on April 15.
And lastly, if you can stop by Pinkberry and bring in proof of purchase from the day before, then you get half-off an equivalent froyo until April 20.
