WWE Raw Preview, Spoilers for April 14, 2014: Daniel Bryan & The Shield Unite Against The Authority
A lot has changed for Cesaro since Wrestlemania 30, and splitting up with former Real American tag team partner Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter to become a "Heyman Guy" is just the tip of the iceberg. After losing in the Elimination Four-way Tag Team match for the WWE Tag Team titles to Usos at Wrestlemania, Cesaro made a gigantic impression body-slamming The Big Show in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at Wrestlemania 30 to win the inaugural 30-Man Over-the-Top Rope battle royal. Cesaro pulled a swerve hours later, dumping his manager Colter and tag team partner Swagger to join up with Paul Heyman. Swagger retreated during his match against Cesaro last Monday night, taking a count-out loss, but attacked Cesaro on Friday Night Smackdown during Cesaro's bout with the Big Show. What plan will Swagger and Colter hatch against Cesaro and Heyman as their war escalates?
NXT Divas Champion Paige made a huge impression in her Monday Night Raw debut last week. While trying to congratulate AJ Lee after successfully defending her WWE Divas title in the Vickie Guerrero Divas Invitational - overcoming the challenge of 14 divas on the roster with desires to hold her championship - Paige ended up angering AJ, who challenged the NXT upstart to a title bout. Despite the impromtu title match, Paige hit AJ with the Paige Turner to take the WWE Divas title away from longest reigning champion. The title means everything to AJ, so what will an unhinged former champ do to take back what she feels is rightfully hers?
Rob Van Dam has returned to the WWE and one person unhappy about his return to the company is Damien Sandow, who has lost twice to the "Mr. Monday Night" since his return to the company. The former ECW champion has his sights set on bigger fish to fry, but will drawing Sandow's ire may came back to haunt him?
Seems like the Wyatts are not done with John Cena despite his victory over Bray Wyatt at Wrestlemania 30. Wyatt got a measure of revenge on Monday, beating Cena in a Six-Man Tag Team match, despite help from Sheamus and Intercontinental Champion Big E. Wyatt took things a step further, warning the former champion on Smackdown this week that he was going to take Cena to new extremes with the Extreme Rules just right around the corner. What will Wyatt do as he continues his physical and mental assault against Cena?
Just when it seemed like The Authority, former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton, and Batista would have the last laugh on the newly-crowned WWE World Heavyweight champion Daniel Bryan, but the champ received a helping hand from an unlikely source - The Shield.
After being attacked by Orton, Batista, and Kane, Triple H seemed on the verge of taking the championship away from Bryan until The Shield - driven by anger after the WWE COO gave "the Hounds of Justice" an ultimatum despite siccing Corporate Kane and the Corporate New Age Outlaws on them during their Road to Wrestlemania - evened up the odds for Bryan. The Authority will likely not take the Shield's defiance lightly and will look to not only put the Shield in their place, but also take back the WWE world title away from Bryan in the process. At what costs will Triple H go to break the "YES! Movement" and The Shield? Will Orton get his mandatory rematch against Bryan? And will Batista sit idly by as he watches his former Evolution partners jostle for a title that he clamors to hold since winning the Royal Rumble?
