'The Originals’ Season 1 Episode 18 Spoilers: Jackson & Hayley's Future Revealed, Genevieve Asks Elijah for Special Request [Videos]
Things will heat up between the original vampires and the original werewolves when "The Originals" returns to The CW with an all-new episode on April 15.
The upcoming episode, titled "The Big Uneasy," will feature a big party, Davina's magic and lots of chaos in midst of the newly formed alliance between the supernatural beings.
In a trailer for the new episode, Hayley appears to be in direct contact with Elijah, while Klaus is dancing with a few different witches, hoping to form bonds and possibly stir up trouble. At one point in the preview video, Genevieve and Klaus seem to be involved in a romantic relationship and Klaus tenderly tells her, "One never knows when a powerful witch might come in handy." At the end of the preview, some vampires and witches take action, suggesting that a takeover may be in the works. However, exactly who and what will be causing trouble is up in the air, notes Cinema Blend.
Fans can also expect to learn more about the new werewolves now that Jackson is forming a relationship with Hayley. In an interview with TVLine, actor Nathan Parsons opened up about the blossoming relationship between the two.
"Their relationship is complicated. Jackson has watched Hayley as a wolf for years, so he's had a lot of time to get to know her," said Parson of his character. "When the curse was broken and he finally got to talk to her in person, he'd built up an entire relationship in his head. So for him to just say, 'Hey, I'm that wolf that's been watching you and we're supposed to be married,' that was a lot to throw at her at once. I think she was a little taken aback. Also, the reality is starting to set in for Jackson: Hayley is pregnant with Klaus' child. Nothing ever goes the way you plan it."
Parson went on to reveal that Jackson is trying to establish both a personal and a political relationship with Hayley.
"You want the pack to be strong and you want Hayley to be the queen, but she also has a relationship with the vampires. I think Jackson will use that relationship to get back into the good graces of the original vampires. It's a tough line to walk; you want the personal relationship, but you also need the political relationship."
However, Parson warned that there will be tension between Jackson and Elijah, the uncle of Hayley's unborn child.
"Generally, vampires don't like werewolves, and werewolves hate vampires. Every time I see one, I want to kill them. But Elijah's relationship with Hayley does make things complicated. Plus, [the originals are] the ones in power. I don't think the original vampires are as bad as Marcel was - Elijah seems like a much smarter leader - so maybe this is a relationship we can deal with, once we've gotten over that gut instinct."
The CW also released another new clip from "The Big Uneasy" showing Genevieve taking advantage of her new relationship with Klaus by asking Elijah to grant her coven of witches the right to celebrate feast days out in the open.
According to Dread Central, "The Big Uneasy" official synopsis states that:
"Genevieve (guest star Elyse Levesque) asks Elijah (Daniel Gillies) to allow her coven to publicly celebrate a traditional feast day, where members of the community offer the witches gifts in return for blessings. Monique (guest star Yasmine Al Bustami) and Genevieve disagree over what the ancestors want from them, and Genevieve reveals her plan to build the witches' power. When Elijah focuses his attention on restoring their home to its former glory, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) accuses him of doing it only to impress Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin). Next, Klaus sets a new plan in motion by finding Cary (guest star Jesse Boyd), a werewolf from his own line, and sending him off to find a missing piece of family history."
The synopsis continues, "Marcel lets Thierry (guest star Callard Harris) in on his new plan to rebuild his power, but Diego (guest star Eka Darville) has his own ideas about the future. At the Feast of the Blessings, Monique and Genevieve try to use the ceremony to teach Davina (Danielle Campbell) a lesson, but Klaus intervenes and gives Davina a surprisingly important gift. While Hayley struggles to decide where her loyalties should lie, the ceremony explodes into violence."
Even though Rebekah said her final farewell to the French Quarter in the last episode, executive producer Julie Plec told TVLine that this is not the last we'll see her on the show.
"We'll get the postcards from Kansas, and we'll for sure see her again, God willing," said Plec. "I don't think it's the last we've seen of Rebekah. It was just time for her to say goodbye and drive off into the proverbial sunset." She added that "The absence of this sister from this family dynamic is going to make the brother dynamic even more fraught." Wait, more fraught?
Furthermore, actress Danielle Campbell confirmed to TVLine that Davina is still seeking revenge against Klaus for killing her boyfriend, Tim. "She's furious at him for what he did. And she's never going to forgive him, I don't think," however, "she hasn't [seen him], so the opportunity hasn't arisen."
"The Originals" S1E18, "The Big Uneasy," airs Tuesday, April 15 at 8 p.m. EDT on the CW.
