Batman Arkham Knight: New Villain, New Batmobile Revealed [Photos]
Rocksteady has revealed that Arkham Knight is the new villain in Batman: Arkham Knight.
The villain was created specifically for this game, and at a recent press conference, Rocksteady, the developers of the game, finally revealed what he looks like. The company is responsible for Arkham City and Arkham Asylum, but another developer made the last Batman game, so this marks a return for Rocksteady as well.
The game takes place about a year after Arkham City, where Scarecrow has threatened Gotham City, according to Mashable. He releases a toxic gas that brings the worst fears to people's minds. About 6.3 million residents have been evacuated, so only the police and Batman are left to deal with criminals.
This world is about 20 times bigger than the last game, said Dax Ginn, Rocksteady brand manager.
"We wanted players to experience Gotham on an epic scale," he said. "The goal of this game, as all other Rocksteady titles, is to feel like you're really Batman."
The Batmobile is new, resembling the one seen in Christopher Nolan's Batman movies.
"That's the first one we looked at," said Ginn about the Batmobile in Arkham Asylum. "We went back and had a look at what we have done before. If you look at some of the design features of that - the fins on the back, the pipes along the side -those features and those elements exist within this Batmobile."
The developers didn't take bits and pieces from other Batmobiles. The makers took from the one featured in Asylum, and continue to evolve from there.
