Manny Pacquiao Next Fight Update: Amir Khan Thinks Pacman Will Beat Timothy Bradley in April 12 Rematch
British boxing icon Amir Khan believes that Manny Pacquiao will reclaim the World Boxing Organization welterweight title in his upcoming rematch with Timothy Bradley on April 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Khan recognized that Pacquiao might have lost a step based on his previous fights, but the Bolton, England native pointed out that the former pound-for-pound king has something to prove in his next fight.
Aside from showing the world that he is still one of best boxers alive today, the former light welterweight champion insisted that Pacquiao is determined to avenge his loss in their first showdown. Pacquiao absorbed a controversial split decision loss to Bradley in their welterweight title showdown in June 2012.
"In the end I believe Manny will take it," Khan said, Examiner reported. "I think Pacquiao has something to prove. The thing about these fighters, when you have something to prove, you're hungrier. You're going to give it your all. Pacquiao will come in and do everything to win this fight."
But while he is confident that his former sparring partner will prevail in the rematch, Khan added that fight fans should expect a good fight on April 12 because both fighters have exciting styles.
"I think it's going to be a good fight for fans to watch," Khan said of the Pacquiao-Bradley rematch. "Manny is a quick fighter and explosive, then you got a Tim Bradley who is quick and explosive as well and when you think about it, when people are talking about the fight they say that Bradley doesn't have a chance against Pacquiao, but styles make fights."
Khan also pointed out that Pacquiao should be wary because Bradley is oozing with confidence at this point of his career, especially after defeating Juan Manuel Marquez, the fighter who knocked Pacquiao out cold in December 2012.
"They are both great fighters, but the good win Bradley had against Marquez can give him more confidence since Marquez knocked out Pacquiao, and also beating Pacquiao the first time," Khan said.
