Nike Release Dates 2014: Kobe 9 EM, Kobe Venomenon 4, Air Jordan 5Lab3 Arriving In Stores Saturday
Three excellent sneakers are set to be released this weekend, and all three models are expected to make waves on the sneaker market.
First up is Kobe Bryant's newest signature sneaker called the Kobe 9 EM, which will debut Saturday, March 29, in select Nike stores worldwide. The Kobe 9 EM is more of a low-profile sneaker compared to the now-famous Kobe 9 Elite, which was recently released in three excellent colorways this month.
Unlike the Kobe 9 Elite, this new signature shoe is low-cut in form, featuring an Engineered Mesh (EM) upper to provide superb ventilation along with a Lunarlon midsole for better responsiveness.
"You've seen the high-profile Kobe 9 Elite, now meet the low-profile Kobe 9 EM," Nike noted. "This shoe's Engineered Mesh upper provides lightweight ventilation to keep you cool, and an interior lining made of contouring mesh to provide a snug, comfortable fit. All this sits atop a Lunarlon midsole that delivers an ultra-soft, responsive ride."
This Kobe 9 EM sneaker will debut in a Lakers-centric University Gold/Black-Laser Crimson colorway, selling at $160 per pair.
Also arriving in retail stores on Saturday is the Nike Zoom Kobe Venomenon IV, which will be released in Black/University Gold-Laser Crimson-Dark Grey - a complete opposite of Kobe 9 EM's theme. This low-profile sneaker, which sports a black-based upper part with university gold Nike Swoosh logo and outsole, will be available for $120 per pair worldwide.
Jordan Brand's latest sneaker is also expected to make headlines this weekend. The highly-anticipated Air Jordan 5Lab3 will finally hit shelves on Saturday and will sell at $225 per pair.
The Air Jordan 5Lab3, which will be released Silver/Reflect Silver-Black-White colorway, has a canvas similar to that of Air Jordan 3s combined with Air Jordan 5 elements.
"The Air Jordan 5Lab3 is the newest model in the Air Jordan Elements collection. The Air Jordan 3 is a perfect canvas to showcase iconic elements from the Air Jordan 5. An upper made almost completely of reflective Metallic Silver is the hallmark of this Lab creation, with touches of Elephant Print and hits of Powder Blue," Nike noted.
