New App Lets You Use Instagram Photos to Create Nail Art [Video]
Have thin nail brushes and still can't figure out how to draw skinny lines on the border of your nails or maybe your nail art just looks like a bottle of polish exploded on your hand?
We hear you, and so does NailSnaps. The company is in the process of making your nail art easier and more personalized. It is currently raising funds to allow you to use your Instagram pictures as nail art.
According to its Kick Starter account, "NailSnaps combines digital creativity with custom-printed nail polish stickers, letting your nails become a gallery for wearable art."
The NailSnaps mobile app will be free, and will let you choose how you want your pictures to appear on your fingers. The image can span your fingers or you can mix it up by choosing different parts for each finger.
You would then order your prints, which would then be delivered to your door. The NailSnaps are quick and easy to apply, and as a bonus, you don't have to wait for it to dry as with traditional nail polish.
The nail art will last about a week.
Angel Anderson, one of the founders, explained that she got the idea after starting to wear nail stickers, but she was unimpressed with the selection.
"The idea for NailSnaps came out of a love for digital photos, particularly Instagram," she said. "I wanted to physically showcase my pics in a way that's just as ephemeral and impermanent as a social feed."
She said that NailSnaps would allow people to have a one-of-a-kind look, which she states is the point of nail art.
The company has raised a little more than $20,000 for the project so far; its goal is $47,381. There are 13 days left to make your Instagram snaps into nail art. Find out more about the project here.
