Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather Could Command $50 Million Each in Proposed Super Fight

The showdown between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. remains a dream at this point, but if both boxing superstars keep on winning, the match could be finally arranged.

According to a recent report from Inquisitr, the long-proposed blockbuster showdown could take place soon if both fighters win in their respective next fights, with sources indicating that Mayweather and Pacquiao could earn at least $50 million each in guaranteed fight purse cash.

"As long as both Pacquiao and Mayweather can keep winning, it's likely that both fighters would command $50 million each when they finally meet, insiders believe," the Inquisitr wrote.

Pacquiao, who has been pushing for the potential record-breaking showdown over the past several months, is currently preparing for his upcoming rematch with Timothy Bradley on April 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Pacquiao is itching to avenge his controversial loss to Bradley during their first showdown in June 2012, but the former pound-for-pound king also knows that a win would put him closer to landing a bout against Mayweather.

Sources indicated that if Pacquiao wins against Bradley, the fifth showdown against Juan Manuel Marquez could be next. And if Pacquiao passes the Marquez test, he may have no other choice but to agree to a showdown with the reigning pound-for-pound king.

Top Rank Promotions CEO Bob Arum previously said that he believes Pacquiao will eventually face Mayweather in the near future—possibly later this year or in early 2015. But Arum also reiterated that the ball is still in Mayweather's court.

"There are ways it can get done, they have to dumb down the rhetoric, we are prepared to dumb down the rhetoric and get it done," Arum said. "There is no real impediment to having that fight happen whether it will or not depends completely on the Mayweather side. I can see it happening but I can't predict that it will happen because it takes two to tango."

Mayweather has said that he is open to facing Pacquiao, but only if the Filipino boxing icon will cut his ties with Top Rank Promotions, insisting that he is not interested in doing business with Arum.
