'Beauty and the Beast' Season 2 Episode 16 Spoilers: Gabe and Vincent Fight Over Cat [Video]
The latest episode of "Beauty and the Beast" saw Vincent and Cat drawing closer together, no matter how hard they tried to stay apart.
In "Catch Me If You Can," Vincent (Jay Ryan) is on a mission to stop Sam (Tom Everett Scott) and his dastardly plans.
Meanwhile, Cat's relationship with Gabe (Sendhil Ramamurthy) is becoming more serious, which makes Vincent conflicted. Vincent tells J.T. (Austin Basis) that he is going to let Cat go so she can be happy with Gabe, and Gabe even goes to Vincent's boathouse to tell him that he can give Cat a normal life, which Vincent could never do. Yet, nothing erases Vincent's passion for Cat.
As far as Vincent's mission goes, he tracks Sam. Once he finds him, he imprisons him in the same underground cell where Sam kept Tori.
Cat and Gabe then walk in on Vincent beasting out on Sam for insulting Tori.
In the end, they have to let Sam go because they have nothing that can implicate him. Releasing him is also the only way to find his latest victim, who is being held captive at a secret location. The man, Xavier Wright, has been transformed into a beast as part of Sam's plan to get vengeance against the people he believes are responsible for the death of his son.
Vincent uses his beast skills to track Xavier, while Cat uses more traditional means to try and find the victim. Even though Cat is trying to avoid Vincent, they run into each other during their search, so they decide to track the victim together.
While they're in the car together, Cat realizes that Sam is allowing them to track Xavier, meaning it's all a setup. It becomes especially clear that it's a setup when a semi-truck slams into the car, seemingly coming out of nowhere.
It turns out the truck is being driven by Xavier.
Vincent and Cat are upside-down in their car, and Xavier is about to finish the job when he sees other people on the scene, which causes him to flee.
While they're trapped, Cat gets on the phone with Gabe, who tells her that Sam intends to access a CIA blacksite for an unknown reason. Xavier uses a flash drive on the network at the blacksite while Sam downloads something from a remote location.
Vincent and Cat take off, with Vincent going after Xavier while Cat busts Sam.
When Cat finds Sam, he reveals to her that he's trapped Xavier with enough C4 to kill anyone in his radius, which puts Vincent in grave danger. While Cat stares down Sam, Vincent tries to save the now unconscious Xavier. While Sam threatens to push the trigger, Vincent tries to get all the C4 off Xavier before it detonates.
Sam pulls the trigger, and Cat becomes enraged, thinking Vincent might be dead. She then handcuffs him to a radiator and goes to check on Vincent. She's very relieved to find that he's still alive, and is trying to revive Xavier.
He is able to save Xavier, and Cat gives Vincent a warm embrace.
In the end, Cat goes to Vincent's boathouse to break off her friendship with him, only to end up giving in to their mutual passion for each other.
On next week's spring finale, titled "About Last Night," Cat will try to convince herself that sleeping with Vincent was a mistake, and Vincent and Gabe will battle it out for Cat's heart.
