Oscars Red Carpet Rewind: The 5 Best Beauty Looks From Oscars Past
The biggest night in Hollywood is mere days away, and because like everyone else, we are totally excited, we decided to take a trip down memory lane to find what beauty looks made the red carpet. Here are our top five.
Anne Hathaway, 2013
Her dress may have been divisive, but there's no denying that the pixie cut has never looked better. Anne Hathaway played around with her short hair all season, and for the Oscars, she went for a more low-key look. Her makeup was also fairly simple because her lipstick was so pink.
Charlize Theron, 2013
But Hathaway wasn't the only attendee with a stunning pixie cut. Charlize Theron debuted her cut at the Oscars, and that bold move lands her on this list. She went even more natural with her makeup. Her lips were a more neutral toned pink, and her eyes also didn't have a dark eyeshadow. Her eyelashes, though, were dark and perfectly curled.
Rooney Mara, 2012
"The Girl With a Dragon Tattoo" star is also edgy in real life. She chose a sleek ponytail and blunt bangs that were hard to miss. She didn't go for princessy and did something not many people could have pulled off. It's a severe look, but it's one that is well suited to her.
Hailee Steinfeld, 2011
One of the harder things about going to an award ceremony like the Oscars when you're still a child is dressing age appropriately. Steinfeld nailed it. From her tea-length dress to the minimal makeup, she managed to look like a fashionable kid. The headband is a nice touch that feels young, but still matches with the rest of the look.
Beyoncé, 2009
We're so used to seeing Beyoncé with fuller hair and a bit more makeup. At the Oscars, she went very bare minimum, proving that a little does go a long way. All she needed was a subtle cat eye.
