Sochi Olympics Men’s Hockey Gold Medal Match Live Stream: Canada vs. Sweden; Preview, TV Schedule, and Boxscores Information

The Sochi Olympics is about to wrap up on Sunday but not before Canada and Sweden duke it out for perhaps the most prestigious prize in the Winter Games—the gold medal in the men's ice hockey at the Bolshoy Ice Dome.

The Canadians enter Sunday's clash with Sweden as the proverbial favorites, boasting a lineup that consists of former NHL MVPs and All-Stars. Then again, the Swedes are ready to take on the juggernauts of the sport, hoping their efforts will be enough to pull off one of the biggest upsets in Olympic men's hockey history.

But for Sweden to win it all, they have to solve Canada's menacing defense, anchored by the man between the goal posts—Carey Price, who is posting an outstanding .963 save percentage and 0.74 Goals Against Average throughout the entire tournament.

Canada might not have an offense as explosive as the United States squad, but their team defense and the outstanding net-minding ability of Price catapulted them to a 1-0 semifinal win against their fabled North American rival.

Since the Canadians will once again rely on their smothering defense, Sweden might also look to beat them at their own game. Henrik Lundqvist, who has been a stud between the pipes for Sweden throughout his international career, is viewed as the key in Sweden's gold medal showdown with Canada.

Of course, Lundqvist will absolutely need all the firepower he can get from the skaters led by Washington Capitals defenseman Nicklas Backstrom, who's also expected to play a big factor in Sunday's finale.

"Obviously, you dream about it," Backstrom told reporters via the Washington Post. "But right now, it's about us. It's a new Olympics. We have to think about what we should be doing here."
