BAFTAs 2014 Red Carpet Fashion: Top 5 Best Dressed Actresses
Minimalism was the word at the BAFTAs red carpet, and those that stuck to this trend last night were among the best dressed. Click through to see which looks reigned supreme.
Naomie Harris: In a bright pink Gucci dress, Naomie Harris looked sexy and chic. Her dress had a plunging neckline as well as a thigh-high slit. She didn’t make the mistake of having a necklace fight with that head-turning neckline, and opted for just a pair of statement earrings. She also kept her purse, nails and shoes to a basic black to tie in with the black band on the dress.
Angelina Jolie: She was easily one of the most standout celebrities at the BAFTAs. Angelina Jolie chose not to go for a dress, and instead wore a tuxedo by Saint Laurent with Tiffany & Co. jewels, and matched her date Brad Pitt. Whoever said menswear isn’t feminine enough needs to see Angelina Jolie’s take on a tuxedo.
Samantha Barks: Just looking at the “Les Miserables” actress dress, it’s easy to see that she’s wearing Calvin Klein Collection. It has all the signature details of a CK dress. It’s minimalist but very beautiful. It’s not a fussy dress, and it is really customizable to many actresses because it’s not over designed. Barks chose to wear a chunky necklace by Yoko.
Uma Thurman: This vavavoom dress by Atelier Versace shows off the 43-year-old actress’ figure. A problem some women face when wearing form-fitting gowns is that it looks too tight. This, on the other hand, doesn’t tug awkwardly and really looks as if it were made for her body.
Lupita Nyong’o: This newcomer has already proven herself on the red carpet. For the BAFTAs, she chose a beautiful green dress by Christian Dior. Unlike the other actresses, her dress was not a sleek shape. It was a full skirt and longer train. But she knows what works on her, and she does vibrant hues better than pretty much anyone else.
