GTA 5 News: New DLC Adds Prohibition Flair to PS3 and Xbox 360 Game
A new batch of free Grand Theft Auto 5 Online DLC has been released that will help fans find new ways to cause chaos and destuction in Los Santos.
The DLC, entitled the Valentine's Day Massacre Special is now available to both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners of the game, and with the DLC comes a wide variety of different content for users to partake in. The single player content will be readily available after download, but the Grand Theft Auto Online content will have to be bought with in-game currency.
With this release of this DLC 10 new missions will be made available to players in the online portion of the game. This includes the Shotgun Wedding deathmatch event found near a church in Paleto Bay. As the name implies, this deathmatch features a small map and shotguns only, leading to some major carnage during the event. Another new deathmatch event, Property Value, takes place near Mirror Park that will feature several areas perfect for sniping foes.
Several races will be included in the Valentine's Day Massacre Special DLC. One auto race called VInewood Tours will take participants around many of the iconic sites seen around the ritzy portion of Los Santos. Another race found on the high seas near the city, creatively titled Motorboating, will have players dashing about near Mt. Gordo. Finally, a bike race in the Grand Senora Desert called Heart Breaker will mimic BMX races with many different dirt jumps to navigate through. For those looking for a different sort of extreme sport to participate in, a new parachute jump event has been added to the game above Raton Canyon.
A new weapon, the Gusenberg Sweeper, is also part of this DLC. This gun, modeled after the real-world Thompson sub-machine gun can be used to reenact a player's favorite scenes from 1920's era gangster stories. The gun has a 30 round drum magazine like the famous Tommy gun, and the gun can be upgraded to have a 50 round clip for $9000.
Finally, a new vehicle, the Albany Roosevelt, can be bought in the game for $750,000. This vehicle, modeled after 1920's style cars can only go 70MPH, but it is strong enough to power through most obstacles. This makes it a good vehicle for hit and runs on foes along with the new weapon that players will now be able to use alongside the Roosevelt.
