The Elder Scrolls Online News: Player vs. Player Previewed Before April 4 Release Date on PC
The Elder Scrolls Online has a new preview available showing how the player vs. player zones of the world will work when the game is released on April 4.
As IGN reports, in the game's player vs. player users will be able to join different factions that will control certain areas of the map. If one faction controls all of the gates, outposts, and keeps found in the area, then the group will be able to use special Shrines to magically teleport to the different areas. However, if an outpost is overrun by a different group or a section of a keep is destroyed, players will no longer be able to transport to that location using the Shrines.
Players can also earn Alliance Points to help out themselves as well as their faction in the game. Alliance points are earned by completing quests, killing enemies, and capturing enemy territory. Alliance Points can be used to upgrade the player as well as their alliance's fortress, so players should quickly build these points up. If players have access to all of the Shrines in a location, they can quickly gain Alliance Points by moving resources through the portals.
To help players defend or conquer territory, The Elder Scrolls Online will have many different siege weapons to choose. These range from long range machines such as trebuchets and ballista to more close range weapons such as catapults and battering rams. In addition, each type of weapon will have different ammunition that deals bonus damage to certain targets. For example, catapults are capable of firing ammo that spreads diseases, fire pots to set fires, and scatter shot to hit multiple targets at once.
With frequent attacks in the player vs. player zones, users will have to repair siege weapons as well as their keeps to avoid being destroyed. By killing enemies players may repair kits that can be used to make sure that their equipment and castles are up to date.
Finally, Elder Scrolls can be captured to help boost the stats of every user in an alliance. Elder Scrolls are difficult to capture, but once an alliance has taken one and put it in one of their original keeps then special buffs are awarded to the alliance. This will make Elder Scrolls very popular targets and the items could be the most coveted of all things in The Elder Scrolls Online.
