6 Designers With Strange Ideas About How to Wear Fur
There has been a resurgence of fur in the last few years. From the golden age of Hollywood up to the '60s, fur was the choice for glamorous women, which started to decline in the 1970s. This trend was reflected in the following decades, but we may be entering another period ruled by fur. The model above wears a fur coat while walking in the J. Mendel show. Check out all the wacky ways designers propose wearing fur.
As a Bucket Hat: These large floppy hats were presented by label 10 Crosby Derek Lam. These are probably the least strange item on this list, but they are still an eyesore.
As a Sash: CG, or Chris Gelinas, proposes wearing a stole as a sash, which is perfect for those times when you need a diagonal strip of your body to be warmer than others. And, if you want to wear it more creatively, you can also put your arms through it and have it encircle your back.
As the Sleeves of Your Puffer Jacket: As if the puffer jacket couldn't get bulkier and more awkward, Donna Karan made it possible with this DKNY look.
As Oversized, Elbow High Gloves: The model (check her out in the background) is wearing the fuzziest pair of gloves that reach her elbows, which will undoubtedly prove to be the warmest gloves in existence. But they are also incredibly cumbersome.
As a Belt: Do like Jonathan Cohen and wear a furry belt. The strangest part is that it adds volume to a part of the body that women would not want to make look bigger.
As an Almost Cape: At Brandon Sun, models wore fur overlays that almost looked like capes. Frankly, we would have preferred capes because this is sure to give the model a cold shoulder.
