Drake Calls Press 'Evil' After Losing Rolling Stone Cover to Philip Seymour Hoffman
Excerpts from Drake's Rolling Stone interview leaked, which has upset the rapper in more ways than one.
Drake took to Twitter to share his frustration.
"I never commented on Yeezus for my interview portion of Rolling Stone," he said in a now-deleted Tweet from Thursday. "They also took my cover from me last minute and ran the issue."
In another Tweet, which has now also been deleted, he said, "I'm disgusted with that. RIP to Phillip Seymour Hoffman. All respect due. but the press is evil."
Instead, he tried to leave his followers with one thought. "I'm done doing interviews for magazines. I just want to give my music to the people. That's the only way my message gets across accurately," wrote Drake.
According to MTV, various blogs have reported that Drake has criticized Kanye West's lyrics on "Yeezus," especially the song "I'm In It." Drake denied these claims, but a rep for Rolling Stone said the quotes are accurate.
The two rappers have a history of being at odds, which ended last August when they appeared on stage together. What Drake said about Kanye West has yet to be released.
However, Drake had no problem expressing himself in this Rolling Stone interview as he also spoke about Macklemore.
However, he didn't deny what he said about Macklemore's apology text to Kendrick Lamar. "I was like, 'You won. Why are you posting your text message? Just chill. Take your W, and if you feel you didn't deserve it, go get better - make better music,'" he said. "It felt cheap. It didn't feel genuine. Why do that? Why feel guilt? You think those guys would pay homage to you if they won?"
The issue will hit stands tomorrow.
