iPhone 6 News: New Screenshots Leaked; Release Date Unknown
The iPhone 6 may have finally been revealed thanks to two recent leaks.
One leak was from an anonymous Twitter user Mornray886; the other leak came from Sonny Dickson, who has provided information concerning the iPhone 5C and Samsung's Galaxy Note 3.
The new images show off the basic shape of the iPhone, which does not vary greatly from the traditional iPhone shape. The screen appears to be larger than previous iPhones, and the photos seem to back up the rumors that the new iPhone would have a 4.8-inch display. In comparison, the iPhone 5S has a 4-inch display. The bezel also appears to be much thinner than on previous iPhones, which is perhaps influenced by the success of the iPad Air. Touch ID also appears in the leaked photos, and an aluminum back similar to the iPod Touch is also shown. The case for the alleged iPhone 6 is Space Grey, and it will be interesting to see if Apple moves in a more colorful direction like the iPhone 5C or decides to stick with the company's normal color scheme for its newest mobile device.
As with most hardware leaks, these photos must be put firmly in the rumor category. Apple has released no new information about the company's future smartphone plans. Apple is most likely experimenting with different designs for their newest flagship smartphone, and the headset seen in the photos here may be a prototype and not the final product. Perhaps Apple, drawing from the iPod Touch and iPad Air, is trying to find the right mix of new designs and technologies to draw in the huge crowds they expect for the launch of their products.
It is unclear when Apple plans to launch the iPhone 6, but the new smartphone will most likely appear later in 2014. Considering that the iPhone 5S and 5C are less than six months old, it is likely that a new iPhone won't appear until September or October when Apple unveils their new products. Until then, check back with Latino Post Tech for everything iPhone 6 as more and more rumors are revealed and Apple continues to tinker with the device.
