GTA 5 PC News: Pre-Orders Available From Elgiganten
Rockstar has been silent about the possibility of Grand theft Auto 5 being ported to the PC, but that has not stopped one retailer from offering pre-orders for the rumored game.
Gamereactor is reporting that retail chain Elgiganten, which has stores in many different Scandinavian countries, is starting to take pre-orders for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto 5 despite the port being unconfirmed. This news was allegedly confirmed by a manager of one of the Elgiganten stores located in Sweden. The retail chain is owned by Dixons Retail UK, but there is no word that any stores in the United Kingdom are also offering the game for pre-order on the PC.
Despite Rockstar's silence about a PC version of the game, this news seems to indicate that Grand Theft Auto 5 will in fact be available on the PC sometime in the near future. Besides the game being listed on other retail websites, a leak of the bug log of the game indicated that Rockstar has been working on a PC build of the game. While there may not be official confirmation about the PC version of Grand Theft Auto 5 from the people in charge of creating the game, it looks as though various sources are gearing up for the game's release, so it's now most likely a matter of when—not if—the game will be launched on PC.
Previously, Rockstar has released ports of Grand Theft Auto games to the PC, but sometimes the games have been delayed for several months after the release of the console version of the game. When Grand Theft Auto 4 was first released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the PC edition of the game followed around seven months later.
Grand Theft Auto 5 is one of the best-selling games of 2013, with the game's launch a veritable cultural event, with people lining up at midnight to buy the game across the world. Many PC fans want to see the game released on that particular platform so that the modding community can begin adding their own unique flair to the game.
It will be interesting to see at what point Rockstar finally addresses the growing number of signs that their flagship game is being put on to the PC and if they confirm the game soon.
