'Sleepy Hollow' Season 2 Spoilers: Find Out What's Next for Ichabod, Abbie and Company Next Season
The Season 1 finale of "Sleepy Hollow" ended with shocking revelations, major twists and game changing milestones.
During the two-hour special event last Monday, Abbie was left trapped in purgatory, Ichabod was buried alive by his son who he discovered was War, Irving was put behind bars and Jenny was left unconscious after getting into a car crash.
The goal of the epic episode was to leave the fate of "every single character on the show in peril," explained executive producer and writer Mark Goffman in a promo video, teasing what fans can expect in Season 2.
After the Sin Eater Henry Parish revealed himself to be Ichabod and Katrina's long lost son Jeremy and War, the second horseman of the apocalypse, he turned on his father and buried him alive in a coffin. The show will pick up where it left off, says Goffman adding that time will definitely be a factor in order for Ichabod to survive, notes E! News.
"He's not immortal like his son. He's not a warlock, so Ichabod Crane only has a very brief amount of time that he's going to be able to survive in that coffin without air."
While Abbie was left in limbo, Goffman teased that "unlikely people" will come to her aid. "Katrina was able to survive there for over 200 years. It'll be really interesting to see what Abbie is like in purgatory," said the EP.
Irving took the wrap to save his daughter by confessing to the murders of Father Boland and Devon Jones. However, the Captain won't be behind bars for long, Goffman hinted, "He and his friends, his powerful friends, are going to have to figure out how to get him out of that mess. He's got a couple of clues that are going to help him come back."
Jenny was on her way to warn Abbie about Henry's true identify when the Headless Horseman shot at her car and caused her car to flip over. Last we saw, Jenny was unconscious and not looking so good. "She's going to need some real help getting out of that car. Hopefully she's going to do it in time to help the rest of our characters," said Goffman.
Series co-creator and executive producer Len Wiseman also teased that Victor Garber will make a comeback in Season 2. He told TV Line that Garber's role as Ichabod's dad "is a crucial part to Crane himself," adding that, "We've talked about how his character works in the second [season]."
According to the Examiner, the show may be brought back to the present or jump to the future when it returns and more characters with supernatural powers will be added. Dream sequences and flashbacks will also continue to be a huge part of the show.
Season 2 of "Sleepy Hollow" will debut in the fall of 2014 on Fox.
