'Gilmore Girls' Revival on Netflix Confirms Milo Ventimiglia's Return
Milo Ventimiglia has been confirmed to return to the "Gilmore Girls" revival and this time, fans of the show are hoping that he will be back to get the girl. Ventimiglia is the latest returning cast member who has been confirmed to be joining the roster.
The "Heroes" actor has confirmed with The Hollywood Reporter that he will be reprising his role as Jess, one of Rory's (Alexis Bledel) boyfriends in the series. Fans were excited over the news that the actor will be making a comeback to the four-episode Netflix series as it has been revealed that Rory will be single during that time.
Jess Mariano and Rory Gilmore were a popular couple during the height of the show's success. The pair started off as friends, but Rory soon began to be taken by Jess' love of books, wit and charm. However, the two broke it off when he unexpectedly left town. He tries to win her back in the show's sixth season but Rory tells Jess that she is still in love with Logan (Matt Czuchry).
Fans of the series found that they never really had closure over the show ending, especially since there were many unresolved issues. Fans hope that these questions will find answers in the Netflix revival.
Variety reports that the actor tweeted a picture of his script, telling his fans that he was back with his friends for filming. The limited run series will be composed of four 90-minute episodes as opposed to the typical season format.
Jess is also set to have some competition for Rory's affections as Czuchry is also confirmed to be back on the show. Series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino previously said that she wanted to have all Rory's original boyfriends -- Dean (Jared Padalecki), Jess and Logan back on the show. However, there is still the issue of budget constraints in Hollywood.
The first episode of the series will be entitled "Winter" and takes place eight years after the show's finale, Hollywood Life reports. So far, there haven't been many spoilers as to how the "Gilmore Girls" revival will pan out or how Logan and Jess will be back to see Rory again.
Other returning stars are Lauren Graham, Scott Patterson, Kelly Bishop, Keiko Agena and Sean Gunn. Melissa McCarthy said that she was "not invited" to join the show's revival, so for now, her future in the show is uncertain.
As of now, there is no set release date for the "Gilmore Girls" revival series.
