'The Walking Dead's' Michonne Arriving on PC & Xbox This Month in Telltale Games' Mini-Series
A mini-series of "The Walking Dead" is slated to be available for gaming consoles and mobile platforms by the end of the month.
The three-episode special, dubbed "The Walking Dead: Michonne," was developed by Telltale Games. The first segment is expected to be released for PlayStation 3, PC, Mac, PlayStation4, Xbox One and Xbox 360 users this coming February 23, as per Engadget.
For iOS and Android users, the mini-series will drop two days after.
The first episode entitled "In Too Deep," will show character Michonne transforming into a very tough pirate.
Telltale Games' official website further revealed that the title is also expected to highlight the journey of Michoone with Pete while they sail aboard The Companion cruise ship.
It is in this adventure that they discover a massacre that lead them to investigate and hunt the people responsible.
"Haunted by her past, and coping with unimaginable loss and regret, the story explores Michonne's absence between issues #126 and #139 of the comic book," Telltale added.
It added that gamers will be able to unravel why the protagonist was separated from her group, which is composed of Rick and Ezekiel, and how she was able to come back.
Engadget noted that "Orange Is the New Black's" Samira Wiley will be the voice behind Michonne.
IGN also reported that the next two episodes -- "Give No Shelter" and "What We Deserve" -- will follow in March and April, respectively.
To be able to enjoy these game offerings, players will have to pay $15 for the bundle.
The same report said that an exclusive look at the premiere episode can be seen on the YouTube channel of Telltale Games on Sunday at 8:30 p.m. EST (5:30 p.m. PST).
A similar Polygon report explained that the mini-series is actually an adaptation of the main character's story, which has already become famous in a comic book and a television show.
It added that this special was thought of by Telltale Games to give players something to enjoy while they wait for the season three of "The Walking Dead: 400 Days" series.
According to Telltale's official website, they are still working on the next instalment of the game series and they cannot yet disclose any information until the three episodes are all released.
In the meantime, the game developer said that they would first want to present a different story to their players and give them a unique experience of "interactive space."
