'Pokemon Super Bowl' Hints at 'Pokemon Go': Game Facts vs Rumors
The recently released Pokemon Superbowl Commercial has dropped hints on what the public can expect with the upcoming augmented reality game "Pokemon Go."
According to Yibada, the ad was primarily made to celebrate Pokemon's 20th anniversary and at the same time introduce Pokemon Go.
The commercial for the Super Bowl season showed the Pokeball or the container which is expected to house the creatures in the game while a player continues with his or her development.
It was also noted that it is still unclear if this container will be added to the things needed to play the game better along with the Pokemon Go Plus.
GottaBeMobile noted that the gameplay deals mostly with capturing, trading and even battling with creatures they find.
It explained that "Pokemon Go" has a different kind of world compared to previous Pokemon games.
Instead of the usual environment, "Pokemon Go" utilizes sensors to allow players to catch various kinds of creatures.
The plan of Nintendo and Pokemon Company is to collaborate with Niantic Labs in developing the game, which will hopefully be by September, GottaBeMobile added.
"Attendees will get a first-hand, in-depth look at how players are interacting and exploring the world with one another through Pokémon Go," read the statement of Niantic CEO John Hake as quoted by the same report.
More details on the Pokemon Go are expected to be revealed during the GDC 2016, which will start on March 14. Many gamers are also expecting that the announcement of the game's release date will happen during this event.
On the other hand, Venture Beat claimed that 2016 is the expected release date of the "Pokemon Go" on mobile, especially for Android and iOS users.
A lot of people are excited for this since they can already catch creatures with the use of their smartphones. According to the same report, the upcoming offering will join other mobile games like "Pokemon: Trading Card Game" and "Pokemon Shuffle."
Meanwhile, Niantic Japan's Setsuto Murai explained that Google's fancy of making April Fools' jokes gave birth to games like the "Pokemon Go."
He made special mention of the April Fools Pokemon Challenge two years ago, where users were given the challenge to search for Pokemon on the Google Map.
"That Pokemon Challenge was a chance for us to be able to build relations with people at Pokemon, and then (Pokemon) president (Tsunekazu) Ishihara and John (Hanke, CEO of Niantic) were able to meet and talk," Murai shared.
He also noted that they are expecting a mainstream of games on smartphones in about 2 to 3 years.
