'Super Shore' Launches in all of Latin America & Europe as MTV International's First Pan-Regional Show
MTV International's reality TV show "Super Shore" has arrived in Latin America and Europe.
Hollywood Reporter said the show became available in Spain, France and the Latin American region starting Tuesday.
This "Jersey Shore" spinoff was launched on MTV International as its first "pan-regional co-production."
It was noted that the TV series joins together the casts of Gandia Shore from Spain and Acapulco Shore of Mexico. It was reportedly shot for 30 days in the Mediterranean.
"It was a natural idea to do it between Spain and Mexico because of the language. So we decided we might as well extend the footprint, especially since both of the franchises had worked extremely well in many of those territories," said VIMN South Europe, Middle East and Africa vice president for youth and music brands, Laura Abril.
She also noted that MTV has been a good medium for shows in Spanish languages, especially with the success of Acapulco and Gandia.
In addition, Rapid TV News said the company is also hoping to encourage more people to watch the show by making the first episode available through MTV Play for mobile users in Latin America.
Google said this Play application allows users to view their favorite MTV shows even if they are on the go.
Abril said that with this first attempt to mix global and local production, MTV is hoping that they can also work on other territories for their shows.
On its official website, the show was said to be shot inside a mansion on top of the Greek island of Mykonos.
The first cast member to arrive to the mansion was Karime, followed by Igor and then Arantxa and Luis. Other participating individuals are Esteban, Mane, Abraham, Elettra and Fer. A lot of them are expected to engage in sensual adventures with each other.
MTV added that all the cast members will enjoy nights of partying and even falling in love with fellow show regulars. It claimed that this show will offer a summer tour, which will go through famous party sites in the Mediterranean.
"Hold on tight because it will be a bumpy ride!" added MTV.
According to La Vanguardia, this show will be the fifth edition of the Saga series on MTV after Geordie Shore (UK), Shore Warsaw (Poland), Gandia Shore (Spain) and Acapulco Shore (Mexico).
Produced by Magnolia TV Production, the show will feature more than 50 foreign locations and is expected to include 140 individuals for this season.
