'Me Before You' Trailer Released Starring Emilia Clarke & Sam Claflin [Watch]
Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin both star in the movie adaptation of the Jojo Moyes best-selling novel, "Me Before You." Both play two people from different worlds who take a chance on love.
The romantic film is set in the United Kingdom and tells of Will Traynor (Claflin), a wealthy man who seems to have it all. The young man believes in embracing one's full potential and living life to the fullest until an unfortunate motorbike accident leaves him permanently paralyzed.
Louisa Clark (Clarke) is a small-town girl who recently lost her job at the local pub. The young woman does not realize her full potential and is desparate to find a job. Eventually she gets hired as Will's caregiver, despite having no experience in the field.
While Will's moody and angry nature, a result of the accident, is a stark contrast to Louisa's quirky and funny personality, the two soon hit it off. The pair develop feelings for each other as the trailer progresses.
However, Will loses his desire to live, wanting to end his life by way of an assisted dying organization. He said that he has promised his family six months before going on with the plan. Louisa takes it upon herself to make him see that life is worth living, USA Today reports.
The romantic comedy is in itself a whimsical romp of discovering one's full potential and that life is indeed worth living. While the pair might have had a rough start, they just might make it in this heartbreaking movie.
In a report with The Daily Mail, director Thea Sharrock praised Clarke's and Claflin's performances. She went on to say that the pair has a chemistry on screen that is apparent in the trailer.
Sharrock could not help but praise Claflin's acting abilities, saying that the actor relied on facial expressions in order to convey emotions to audiences everywhere. The actor is known for his role as Finnick in "The Hunger Games."
Clarke is best known for her role as Daenerys Targaryen in "Game of Thrones."
Moyes was credited with working on the film's screenplay along with Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber. The duo was also responsible for writing the screenplay for "The Fault in Our Stars."
Clarke and Claflin are joined by Jenna Coleman, Matthew Lewis, Charles Dance and Brendan Coyle.
"Me Before You" opens in theaters on June 3.
