'Divergent Series: Allegiant': New Trailer Shows What is Beyond The Wall
Tris' journey is coming to an end in the latest cinematic trailer of the "Divergent" series. In "Allegiant," audiences are invited to see what lies beyond the Wall.
According to a report with Comingsoon.net, Tris (Shailene Woodley) must escape with Four (Theo James) and travel beyond the Wall. Until now, the secret of what lies beyond the Wall that surrounds Chicago remains a mystery.
There are dangers that the team cannot imagine. In the latest "Allegiant" trailer, audiences catch a glimpse of the Wall's secrets. Tris and the rest of her comrades will discover an entirely new society built in the wilderness. The team also discovers a high-tech city beyond the safety of Chicago's walls.
The new "Allegiant" trailer also shows the continuing storyline in which protagonist Tris fights new foes. Along with her loyal companions, the teenagers battle it out with enemies in the foreign lands with high-tech weaponry and combat skills. Thus far, there are no clear and significant plot details revealed in the trailer, and would leave those who have not read the books to be completely lost. But by the looks of it, fans of the dystopian young adult series won't be disappointed.
Tris is also seen fighting her own self-doubt, according to MTV.com. The heroine has an internal battle, and tries to make herself strong as she, too, is scared of what she might find beyond the Wall. Since the events of the first film, "Divergent," she is left an orphan to battle numerous enemies wanting to take her life.
She has also recovered from the shock of the last installment of the series, in which it was revealed in "Insurgent" that they were all part of an elaborate series of experiments of humankind. Tris and her friends are horrified at this bit of news, and they know that their chances for survival can be found beyond the Wall.
The new "Allegiant" trailer also has a sense of darkness. Tris' love interest, Four, also warns Tris on how dangerous a factionless life can be. Jeff Daniels is also seen for the first time in the trailer. Daniels will play David, the central antagonist of the series -- Leader of the Bureau of Genetic Welfare. There is also a somber tone to the trailer, and fans of the film know why.
"Allegiant" also sees the return of Octavia Spencer, Ray Stevenson, Zoë Kravitz, Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, and Maggie Q.
"The Divergent Series: Allegiant" returns to theatres on March 18, 2016.
