New 'Witcher 3' Mod Allows Gamers to Play Four Main Female Characters [Details]
A new mod to "The Witcher 3" now gives players the opportunity to play four female characters in the game.
CinemaBlend said that with this new mod, gamers now have additional characters to play, other than the main playable character Geralt. It noted that players now have the chance to choose if they want to either be Shani, Triss Merigold, Yennefer the sorceress or Ciri the apprentice.
The video below shows there are already various ways to customize the gameplay experience of the players.
But even though the characters are women, Polygon explained that they all use Geralt's animation when in combat, and also retain the main character's voice.
The same report mentioned that another mod has earlier been created to add a permanent companion to the player's journey in the game.
"There are five options for the non-playable ally characters and you can even use them to aid you in combat," Polygon explained.
It was also added in the CinemaBlend report that players can also tweak their characters depending on their taste, like their hairstyle and outfits.
Launched this May for Windows PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users, "The Witcher 3" has received great reviews from players, and was also recognized as the Game of the Year during The Game Awards 2015.
Because of its success in the gaming world, "The Witcher 3" movie is believed to already be in the works and will come to the big screen two years from now.
Digital Trends said the Sean Daniel Company, which also produced "The Mummy" movies, made an announcement this week that it will also produce a movie based on The Witcher novels of Andrzej Sapkowski.
The series of novels was also the inspiration for "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," which according to Digital Trends, became a hit in the gaming world.
In addition, Digital Trends also said that The Witcher series already has five novels, a collection of short stories, a prequel novel and three game releases.
For this movie, the Sean Daniel Company is expected to work together with Polish producers Platige Films. Aside from "The Mummy" series, Collider noted that the American production company was also responsible for the TV series The Expanse and the Beh-Hur remake.
According to Den of Geek, the upcoming movie is expected to be directed by Tomasz Baginski, who also headed the Sci-Fi animation and Oscar-nominated "The Cathedral." Baginski also reportedly directed the opening scenes of the first games of the series.
Although the movie is expected to come out in 2017, there has been no casting announced.
It was also mentioned in the Digital Trends report that the movie will not be based on any of the series' games or novels, but will be "inspired" by the themes of the "The Witcher" and "Lesser Evil" short stories from the 2008 "The Last Wish" collection of Sapkowski.
