Kate Hudson is Happy Being a Single Mother of Two & Wouldn't Change a Thing
It's the season of giving and forgiving, with Kate Hudson and her ex-fiancée, Matt Bellamy, spending their holidays together along with her kids. The American actress maintained her relationship with the English musician, remaining friends for the sake of their children, but said that she's happy to be a single mom.
The 36-year-old actress and Muse band vocalist broke their off engagement in 2014, according to ABC News. The former couple has a son, 4-year-old Bingham Hawn, choosing to celebrate Christmas as one happy family.
In fact, she made fun of the event, sharing a photo with the 37-year-old singer and writing, "ExMas. From our #ModernFamily to your #WhateverKindaFamilyIsYourKindaFamily, We send you much love and blessings on this Christmas eve #ExMas #HolidayFun #SantasComing," comically captioning the snap.
To recall, the mother-of-two and the musician parted ways just last year, after being together for four years. After they got engaged in 2011, Hudson gave birth to Bingham a couple of months later.
The "Almost Famous" star also has a son, 11-year-old Ryder, with Chris Robinson, Black Crows frontman. Meanwhile, Hudson is enjoying her life as a single, with it being the first time in five years that she's now living alone.
"It's nice to get acquainted with myself alone," she told Harper's Bazaar in November. "You know, the goal when you get into a relationship is not to be out of the relationship. It's to try to stay in the relationship. But if it doesn't work, you can't force those things."
Hudson is having fun being a mother of her two sons, Ryder and Bingham, while also having more time to look after herself. She said that it's nice to have the second chance to give more attention to her own life.
Hudson, too, finds herself fortunate and feels that at her age, she's already complete with her kids and the relationships she had. "I've set my life down--I'm in my house, and I'm alone with my children--and I'm at peace, and that's a really nice feeling. All I really want in my life is to maintain that," she added.
However, Hudson explained that it's certainly hard to let go of something that you're used to having. In spite of others thinking negatively about her, she instead chooses to focus on herself and all of the positives.
Although her decisions often contradict the "traditional" ways many, she promises not to change.
