Samsung A9 Unveiled Featuring Powerhouse Specs [Feaures & Price]
The Samsung Galaxy A9 has officially been released with much fanfare. The latest addition to the Samsung A series boasts of a massive sized screen plus impressive specs and features at an irresistible price.
The unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy A9 came to be during the Samsung Galaxy A Party 2016 event held in China, Tech Times reports. The South Korean tech giant hopes to make yet another impact in the smartphone market with the Samsung Galaxy A9's sleek design and superb build.
It was already leaked in previous reports that the Samsung Galaxy A9 sports a massive 6-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 1,920 x 1,090 resolution, dwarfing the rest of the competition. The 2.5D curved glass proves that the Galaxy A9 belongs to the A-Team. Even the iPhone 6S Plus is smaller than the massive phone, as Apple's latest flagship only measures up at 5.5 inches. This means that those who intend to purchase this phone should invest in cargo pants with deep pockets or a regular purse since the phone will definitely not fit into a regular sized jeans pocket.
Samsung's brand new offering is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 652 and is clocked in at 1.8GHz.
The Samsung Galaxy A9 is packed with 3 GB of RAM alongside 32 GB of storage. This storage can be expanded up to 128 GB with the dedicated microSD card.
The smartphone also has a physical home button with a built-in fingerprint sensor.
One of the most attractive features of this device is the 13-megapixel main camera at the back and 8-megapixel front-facing camera for taking great selfies. The primary camera also has OIS and f/1.9 aperture, Engadget reports.
Since battery life is always a main issue when it comes to handheld devices, the Samsung Galaxy A9 comes with a massive 4,000 mAh battery. The best thing is that it doesn't show in its slim all-metal body.
Fresh out of the box, the handset comes with Android 5.1.1 with TouchWiz. The phone is also reported to work with Samsung's mobile payment service, Samsung Pay.
The Samsung Galaxy A9's profile cuts a very slim figure at 7.4 mm. Compared to the iPhone 6S Plus, the A9 is about 2 mm wider.
The A9 will initially go on sale in China later within the month. The South Korean tech giant is yet to release its official word as to when it plans to release the device to the rest of the world. There is no price for the phone as of yet.
