'Deadpool' Movie Promoted by Wolverine: Will Hugh Jackman be in the Film? [Release Date, Trailer & Update]

Hugh Jackman has jumped onboard the "Deadpool" promotion spearheaded by lead star Ryan Reynolds.

For the month of December, attention for the upcoming superhero flick is being steadily hyped by the 12 Days of Deadpool silliness. Day 11 was reached on Dec. 24, and Jackman posted a silly photo on Twitter featuring his "X-Men" character Wolverine/Logan and the mercenary Wade Wilson in his full Deadpool garb.

Check out the image here. In the picture, Wolverine is giving the finger to a miniature version of Deadpool, who looks like he's about to begin pole dancing on the extended adamantium claw of the mutant.

The photo spiked speculations on social media about Wolverine's possible cameo in the "Deadpool" movie, Cinema Blend wrote. In the comics -- just like in 2013's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" -- both Wilson and Logan endured scientific experiments enabling them to become nearly indestructible super soldiers. In Wilson's case, however, the procedure didn't go as well as Wolverine's.

In May 2015, Reynolds expressed his desire for a Wolverine cameo in "Deadpool."

"God I hope so, that would be really nice," the actor told News.com.au. "I dunno, we'll see. It seems like he's open to it, but it's gonna be more of a scheduling issue than anything else."

Just recently, it was announced that Serbian actor Stefan Kapicic voiced and partly performed via motion capture the "X-Men" mutant Colossus, Entertainment Weekly reported. The character, which is metallic in appearance and stands at 7-and-a-half-feet, was previously portrayed by Daniel Cudmore in three of the "X-Men" flicks. Kapicic wrapped filming for "Deadpool" in mid-December.

As quoted by SlashFilm, here's the movie's official synopsis: "Based upon Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero, 'DEADPOOL' tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life."

Confirmed to be rated R, 20th Century Fox's "Deadpool" bows in theaters on Feb. 12, 2015, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Also starring are Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlisle/Copycat, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, Ed Skrein as Ajax, and Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead. Tim Miller directed the movie from a script penned by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
