Floyd Mayweather Jr. Insults Manny Pacquiao, Bob Arum, Says Pacman Wants to Fight Him to Get Out of Tax Woes
Floyd Mayweather Jr. continues to throw barbs at Manny Pacquiao and Top Rank Promotions boss Bob Arum.
In a recent interview with Fighthype, Mayweather, who previously insulted Pacquiao with a couple of photos posted on his Twitter account, reiterated once again that the highly-anticipated blockbuster showdown between him and the Filipino boxing icon will not happen anytime soon.
"Pacquiao had his opportunity. He had his chance. When he had his opportunity and he had his chance, I guess he was tooting his own horn and he felt like he was on the same level as me. It's obvious he felt like he was on the same level as me status-wise because he wouldn't have asked for 50/50," Mayweather said.
The undefeated American then took a swipe at Pacquiao, saying that "Pacman" is now showing strong interest in fighting him because he is facing tax woes with the IRS and the tax commission in the Philippines.
"So this guy's got all these problems and he wants Floyd Mayweather to solve them for him, huh? He's got 68 million problems and he wants me to solve them. First he didn't need me; now he needs me. He's willing to do anything now after his career done took a major setback," said Mayweather, referring to Pacquiao's defeat against Timothy Bradley and Juan Manuel Marquez.
Mayweather also threw verbal jabs at Arum. The 36-year-old Grand Rapids, Mich. native previously said that the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao colossal showdown will not happen until the Filipino boxing icon is under Arum's Top Rank Promotions.
The reigning WBC and WBA light middleweight champion reiterated that he will never do business again with Arum, who once labeled Mayweather a coward after the reigning pound-for-pound king left Top Rank.
"I don't have a good relationship with him. Why does he want to do business with a coward? When I left Top Rank, he said something about I was scared of Antonio Margarito and all this, right? Where's he at now and where am I at?" Mayweather said. "As far as the Rob [Bob] Arum situation, I left him to become my own boss. With age comes wisdom and growth."
