Steam Winter Deals: 'Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain' For 33 Percent Off & More Discounts
For the Steam Winter Deals this year, great offers have been made available to the public, starting Tuesday night.
Kotaku said the deals on the games were listed on the Steam website, with major price cuts like the "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain," which had a 33 percent discount and now costs only $40.19.
Other titles on sale also included the following, as per Kotaku:
- "The Witcher III: Wild Hunt" is 50 percent off ($29.99)
- "Dying Light" is 66 percent off ($24.47)
- "Mad Max" is 66 percent off ($20.39)
- "Undertale" is 20 percent off at ($7.99)
- "Rust" is 50 percent off at ($9.99)
- "Gone Home" is 70 percent off at ($5.99)
The same report noted that some game series offered sales for every game in their franchise, like "Sid Meier's Civilization," "The Elder Scrolls" and "Devil May Cry."
These amazing deals will be available until 11:30 p.m. on January 4, as per Gadgets NDTV.
It noted that with the current "Star Wars" fever, Steam has also offered discounts on the "Star Wars" games like the "Force Unleashed" and "Knights of the Old Republic." These titles are also featured on the homepage of Steam.
What is also noticeable with this year's offerings is the absence of well-known games like "Fallout 4" and Tom Clancy's "Rainbow Six: Siege."
Comparing the year-end sale of last month's Fall offerings, PC World said Valve is clearly experimenting on its format.
"Whatever's on sale the first day, those are the prices you'll see straight through until January 4 when this ends," added the same report.
Attack of the Fanboy noted that gamers need not worry about the fluctuating prices of the products.
It also explained that the sale system may have been the result of the refunds offered on Steam.
With players being able to ask for a refund due to various reasons, Attack of the Fanboy said players would purchase games during the sale and then ask for a refund later on, if they had found out that the price of the product they bought dropped.
"The solution was to just move to a standard discount model, which is less enjoyable, but also less stressful, as buyers simply have to check the store one time to see all the deals," explained the same report.
Because of the great deal offerings, GottaBeMobile said the sale crushed Valve's website on its initial day.
Those with a Steam account and who are also Mac, Windows PC and Linux players, were the ones catered to by Steam's Winter Sale for 2015.
