"Spain is an odd country for Windows Phone," noted AdDuplex's Alan Mendelevich. "While its neighbors are the European strongholds of WP it never really took off in Spain. But it looks like it could change soon just from looking at the current chart. Lumia 520 has easily dwarfed the former leaders and quite a few [Windows Phone 8] models are well represented in the chart. It will be really interesting to see if Windows Phone manages to make meaningful gains in the country."
As Latino Post reported, the Lumia 520 was noted as the most utilized Windows Phone device in the world. The Lumia 520 was also the top Windows Phone 8 smartphone worldwide for December with 39.3 percent of the market share.
The AdDuplex report consisted of data from 2,499 Windows Phone apps utilizing the AdDuplex SDK version 2. The data was gathered and analyzed on Dec. 27.
