'Halo 5: Guardians' Cartographer's Gift Update Now Available: Includes REQ Items & New Maps
The season for giving is here, as "Halo 5: Guardians" developer, 343 Industries, released a new Cartographer's Gift update that players can avail for absolutely free.
The new "Halo 5" content went live Thursday, thanks to the Microsoft-owned game developer, which was announced via the Halo Waypoint.
According to the outlet, the update includes additional REQ items, as well as the Forge feature, introduced in "Halo 3."
"Since the introduction of Forge in Halo 3, the community has been creating, sharing, and pushing the mode to its absolute limits. With Forge in Halo 5: Guardians, the only limit is your imagination," the report reads.
Moreover, the new Forge feature has been improved based on community feedback that 343 Industries has been developing ever since it was first introduced.
With the improved feature, users will be able to group with a single button press and choose more objects to add to it.
Forgers will also be able to manipulate as many as 64 objects in one time, while more than 1,700 objects, like structure parts, primitive shapes, detail props and accent pieces will also be introduced.
A new arena map called the "Overgrowth" is also set to present more adventures to the players, especially those who use Strongholds and Slayers.
New Battle Maps for Big Teams include "Entombed" and "Antifreeze," while Spartan Companies will be getting more commendations and track their collective stats with the new Service Record feature.
Screen Rant also cited a 343 announcement revealing additions to Forge for Machinima video creators that will make maneuvering bigger objects a whole lot easier.
Players will also be able to enjoy the "Halo 4's" Forge mode feature which allows them to lower their weapons out of sight for a better view of the scene.
While all these are welcome additions to the game, the outlet noted that most members of the "Halo" community are waiting for other additions.
"While these features are welcomed by the Halo community, many fans are anxiously waiting for other additions to the game like being able to see how close you are to the next competitive rank, a feature that was originally in the Halo 5 beta, or a Forge tutorial for newcomers who are pushed away by the sheer number of options and menus involved," the report explained.
The constant update and new content, says Screen Rant, is just one of the many reasons why "Halo 5" remained seated at the Xbox Live's top 10 most played game of all time.
