'X-Men: Apocalypse' Trailer Blow-by-Blow: Top 5 Highlights [Release Date, Cast & News]
The official trailer for "X-Men: Apocalypse" has been released along with some juicy information from the film's helmer himself, Bryan Singer.
As previously reported, the film follows the story of how the mighty mutants of Marvel are faced with a mightier foe called 'Apocalypse,' their biggest threat yet.
The titular villain, portrayed by Oscar Isaac, is an ancient mutant believed to be the first of his kind, who is bent on "cleansing" the world of people -- including mutants -- whom he deems unworthy of existence.
The trailer basically shows how he will be entering the X-Men's lives.

During a talk with Empire, Singer explained every portion of the two-and-half-minute clip, with the added bonus of revealing some insider information.
The Silhouette in Cerebro
In the first few seconds, a silhouette of a person is shown walking into what appears to be the Cerebro.
At first, one may think that the figure is the titular villain, but Singer reveals that it is actually the young Jean Grey, played by Sophie Turner.
"That's actually Jean. Her hair makes her a little strange looking! But I don't want to explain why she's doing what she's doing..." he teased.
Jean's Dream
The next few shots are that of mass destruction from what appears to be Jean's dream.
"I saw the end of the world. I could feel all this death," she worriedly tells Professor Charles Xavier, played by James McAvoy, who immediately calms her down by saying that it was all just a dream.
According to Singer, this "dream" is a portrayal of the incredible power growing within the young telepath.
"It's all about their potential. Jean has a special connection with Xavier, she has a special connection with the psychic world and she has enormous untapped power that's growing," he told Empire.
Professor X's Worries
He also revealed that there is more to the scene than what was shown in the trailer.
"The take I used for the movie is a less sincere take. In the movie it's an intense moment, a psychic moment happens between them and the take is a much more suspicious take," he explained to Empire.
Apocalypse's Size
In the X-Men mythology, Apocalypse is described as a sort of giant, something portrayed in the trailer, but Singer revealed that he would not stay as big.
"I did something a little interesting in how I addressed the size thing, but I think the audience will get a kick out of it," he explained.
Apocalypse's Assitant
In the trailer, Apocalypse is shown speaking to someone to whom he explains what he wishes to accomplish, and that someone is none other than Michael Fassbender's, Magneto.
Since day one, this character has been one of the permanent foes of the X-Men, leading his own band of villains.
However, Singer revealed that Apocalypse may have persuaded him to be his lapdog after the Ancient found him "at the most vulnerable place in his life."
